Incheon Port cargo movement increases 10.8% for last Sept

Dry bulk cargo handled in Incheon Port during last Sept.
posted 8.95 million revenue tons up 10.8% from the corresponding period of last year (on-year). According to latest statistics released on Nov. 5 from Incheon Port Authority, Incheon Port recorded 5.604m revenue tons(R/T) of imports accounting for 62.6% of its total cargo traffic. This is an increase of 20.7% on-year. Its coastal cargo volume shared 26.4%, followed by its export cargo volume share of 10.6% of its total cargo movement.
The cargo items that led growth on-year in last Sept. are petroleum refined products (355,000 R/T), bituminous coal (254,000 R/T), and crude oil and petroleum (149,000 R/T).By growth rate, scrap recorded 878.3%; grain, 87.7%; machinery and parts, 50.7%;sugars,45%;bituminous,31.2%),it turned out.
Grain posted 491,000 R/T up 87.7% on-year due to demand growth of wheat and corn, while bituminous coal recorded 1.067 R/T up 31.2% on-year for supply to Yeongheung Power Plant No.5 newly under operation.
